International Workers Memorial Day Service
Friday 26th April 2019
A special day is held across the world each year to remember those lost to asbestos. This Day is recognised in over 180 countries around the world.
The day includes:
- Speakers of interest
- Singer/musician
- Bagpiper
- Ecumenical Service with segment for the laying of wreaths in remembrance of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their work
- Free community BBQ at the conclusion of the event
Venue is the Centenary Rose Garden, Commercial Road, Morwell and we start at 11.00am.

Asbestos Awareness Day

Asbestos Awareness Morning tea
14th November 2018 – 41 Monash Road Newborough
Our morning tea is held during Asbestos Awareness Week and this year is sponsored by Slater+Gordon Lawyers. The morning tea provides the opportuntity to enjoy a delicious morning tea of scones (homemade of course), jam and cream – tea and coffee, and there will be experts on hand to answer questions from the community including:
- OHS&E environmental firm
- Latrobe City Environmental Health unit
- Sustainability Education Officer at Latrobe City Council
There will be a physical display of items containing asbestos both past and present.
Cost: gold coin donation on entry
Date: Wednesday 14th November from 10am to noon
Venue: our office 41 Monash Road Newborough.
