James Hardie
Protest March 15th Sept. 2004

GARDS members travelled by bus from Gippsland to Trades Hall Melbourne,
to help in the protest for the James Hardie campaign. Over 10,000 people came
out and marched this day to show their anger at James Hardie Company and the
executives. Our GARDS members were heartened to see so many others showing their
condemnation for a company who has shown no regard for Australians. We thank
everyone who is helping in this legal and moral campaign.
Those who were able bodied enough walked from Trades Hall to the Stock Exchange steps, this event was to coincide with James Hardie giving a stock holders report taking place in Sydney at exactly that time on that date. There were also protests outside the Sydney Stock Exchange with a march taking place in Queensland too.
