A TRIBUTE TO FRED GIBBS - THE POSTER/PIN UP BOY OF GARDS

I wish to inform all our members and interested community that the face of the “Make James Hardie Pay” poster, Mr Fred Gibbs from Moe, Victoria passed away on Monday 17th of January 2005 after a long illness with asbestosis.
He will be sadly missed by all of us.
Fred was born on the 16/08/1926.
He worked at the SECV power stations for over 20 years.
Fred married 6 years ago to his devoted wife Thelma.
His eldest son David, Kacy and Little Bill as he is affectionately known as, survives Fred.
Fred was proud that he had been asked to be the face of the James Hardie campaign and represent all the asbestos sufferers in Australia and worldwide.
He wanted to make a difference and we think that he achieved this, don’t you?

WELL DONE FRED!
Our deepest sympathy to Thelma and their family.
