On the 3rd of June GARDS Secretary Vicki Hamilton spoke at the Law Council of Australia’s Personal Injury and Compensation Forum in Sydney.

Over 100 people were in attendance - law firms, actuaries, unions, media and doctors from around Australia came to hear leaders in their field of expertise talk on Personal Injury and how Tort Law Reform has impacted on personal injury cases The forum dealt at length with the effects on people lives who have been injured as the result of negligence.

The forum provided a unique opportunity for those interested or involved in tort reform to listen to and learn from experienced people who are either dealing in compensation for these families or who are suffering from these law reforms.

GARDS secretary Vicki Hamilton said that it was a great chance to be able to tell the history and stories of Gippsland people who were suffering from and who had died due to asbestos related disease, which sadly was totally preventable.
Vicki said she found many supporters for asbestos sufferers at the forum and thought that not only she but also the people who were in attendance got a lot out of the day.
