12.10.2018 ACV/GARDS at Chisholm Frankston campus delivering Asbestos Awareness to another bunch of apprentice plumbers – great questions from the class & thanks for being super enthusiastic to learn more about asbestos – our last group from Chisholm TAFE for the year – all the best for the future in your chosen trade
5.10.2018 the ACV/GARDS girls gave another asbestos awareness session to another class of apprentice plumbers at Chisholm TAFE Berwick campus. Good questions asked and more apprentices asbestos aware. We are very pleased to have been able to get to so many apprentices this year. We still have one more class at Frankston next week. We hope that those apprentices we have spoken with this year will take some of what we have tried to alert them to back into their working life and home environment.
ACV/GARDS attended the Warragul Probus Club 27.9.2018 – There were over 100 Probus members who attended. We think most had no idea what asbestos might be lurking in. There were many questions asked about the domestic scene and lots of information given out on the day. The Probus members are now more asbestos aware – thank you for making our org feel very welcome, we enjoyed meeting everyone – special thank you to Jenny & Sharyn for helping on the day it was fantastic to have you both there.
4/9/2018 & 26/9/2018 – ACV/GARDS girls were at Chisholm TAFES Berwick & Frankston campus – another 50 apprentice plumbers asbestos aware – switched on apprentices who had some terrific questions – empowered to ask “is that asbestos” if they suspect it might be. They now know that they can ask questions. Really terrific bunch of apprentices who made us feel very welcome – we had a great time chatting with all these guys about a very serious subject and taking care of themselves. Thanks to their trade teachers for their involvement in the session – terrific input from everyone.
19.9.2018-ACV/GARDS org travelled to Chisholm TAFE Berwick campus to talk to 30+ apprentice plumbers – Great questions & interaction with a very bright group who talked about places that they now know they were exposed to asbestos – sad to hear about these instances – but the apprentices will now be armed with information into the future to try and keep themselves safe
