Australian Clinical Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pleural Mesothelioma Coming in 2026

#asbestos #mesothelioma #project – On Friday 22nd of August, I and a team of Professionals were welcomed by ADDRI to the specialist group of mesothelioma experts that ADDRI have gathered to continue work on a vital project – the development of the new Australian Clinical Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Pleural Mesothelioma.
With the support of the Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Agency and iCare, ADDRI brought together a national committee of leading mesothelioma experts to update this important consensus-based document. The last guidelines were published in 2013, and much has changed since then.
Chaired by Professor Sonja Klebe and led by ADDRI’s Academic and Research Director A/Professor Anthony Linton, the updated guidelines – scheduled for release early 2026 – will reflect the latest international evidence and best practice – improving diagnostic assessment and enabling tailored treatments for patients.
ADDRI thanked the team contributing their expertise across key specialty areas to make this possible – you can read more about the project and team at this link here
