Asbestos & Silica Awareness Day Event in Gippsland 28th Nov 2025

@asbestosawareness @silica @event – 28th November ACV/GARDS conducted its Asbestos and Silica Awareness Day event at Gippsland Heritage Park Moe – there were over 80+ in attendance – the day was a highlight of everything happening in the asbestos and silica area – our ecumenical service was conducted by Reverend Canon Gradwell Fredericks from the Anglican Parish of Traralgon, speakers for the event were Jenny Coles Silicosis Support and Research Co-Ordinator – Asbestos Dust Diseases Research Institute (ADDRI) Sydney and also from ADDRI Dr Ellen Donohue Post Doc researcher – Anna Rafferty a Data Scientist at the Asbestos and Silica Eradication Agency (ASSEA) Canberra -Jarni Greatorex a Mesothelioma advocate – Ben Davis CEO from the Victorian Asbestos Eradication Agency (VAEA) – Joanna McNeill Silica Advocate – Darcy Price CFMEU organizer – Richard Harris was our wonderfully talented Bag Piper and the Choir of Yes I Can Gippsland sang some truly inspirational songs this all added to the event and to top off a wonderful event we were treated to a lovely BBQ from the Moe Lions Club – thank you to all who came along and made it a special event for all.
