The Gordon TAFE Geelong Virtual Asbestos & Silica Awareness Session

28th Oct 2020 – Today our org did a virtual asbestos and silica awareness session to 11 apprentice Painting & Decorating students at Geelong TAFE. We would like to thank Paul Webb their trade teacher for going above and beyond in making this happen. We were pleased to get feed back that the session was really valuable. It was also great to get calls after the session asking questions – we wish the apprentices all the best in their future trade – now more apprentices are asbestos and silica aware

New booklets about Asbestos and Silicosis

The booklets cover information about what Asbestos exposure and Silicosis are, treatments available, questions to ask your doctor, general legal questions you may have, and a directory of support organisations.

Asbestos & Silica Awareness Chisholm TAFE Frankston Carpenters 2020

#Asbestos & Silica – 12th March 2020 – the ACV/GARDS team visited the Frankston campus of Chisholm TAFE – apprentice Carpenters – 20 new apprentices who listened to an asbestos & silica awareness session – they were a switched on bunch who asked lots of questions around all things asbestos & silica – the feed back from the apprentices was that it was very informative with quite a few who did not know they had been exposed to asbestos until they saw some of the pics and items that were on display and then they realized they had already had exposure around asbestos and/ or silica – we are proud to say these apprentices are now much more asbestos & silica aware. We wish these apprentices all the best in their chosen profession from the crew at ACV/GARDS 👍😎

#Asbestos & #Silica – 6th March 2020 – the ACV/GARDS team visited the Dandenong campus of Chisholm TAFE – apprentice Carpenters – 21 x 1st year and pre -apprentices listened to an asbestos & silica awareness session – they were a switched on bunch who asked lots of questions around all things asbestos & silica – the feed back from the apprentices was that it was very informative with quite a few not knowing anything about asbestos or silica – we are proud to say these apprentices are now much more asbestos & silica aware. We wish these apprentices all the best in their chosen profession from the crew at ACV/GARDS 👍😎

Asbestos & Silica Awareness Gippsland TAFE Painting & Deco 2020

#Asbestos & Silica – 4th March 2020 – the ACV/GARDS team had a visit from the Newborough campus – Painting & Deccrating Dept of TAFE Gippsland – 15 apprentices came for an asbestos & silica awareness session – great questions and terrific conversation around all things asbestos & silica – thank you to Davin for organising them to come to us – the feed back from the apprentices was that it was very informative and engaging so we are pretty proud to say these apprentices are now much more asbestos & silica aware. All the best in your chosen profession from all at ACV/GARDS 👍😎
