Our Services

Supporting Asbestos and Silicosis sufferers throughout Victoria

Asbestos Council of Victoria/GARDS has been operating since 1991 to support asbestos sufferers in Gippsland and throughout Victoria.

We are a not for profit organisation, endorsed as a deductible gift recipient and have Charity Tax concession, including the charity tick of approval.

We are the only asbestos support and advocacy group in Victoria. Since 2020 we also support silica sufferers and their families.

  • Our organisation is operated by one full time worker and one part time worker, plus a band of dedicated volunteers
  • Our volunteers make home and hospital visits to sufferers
  • The office is staffed Monday to Thursday from 10.00am to 4.00pm and Fridays by appointment
