ASBESTOS 2024 Conference

ASSEA/FAMANZ Conference 3 – 6  March 2024

ACV/GARDS enjoyed attending the ASSEA/FAMANZ International conference in Melbourne Sustaining Innovation – great speakers – so many interesting topics – good conversations.

The Faculty of Asbestos Management of Australia and New Zealand (FAMANZ) and the Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Agency (ASSEA) conducted the ASBESTOS 2024 conference, that took place on 4-6 March 2024 at the Rydges Hotel Melbourne.

ASBESTOS 2024 – Sustaining Innovation – explored new ways to manage, remove and dispose of ageing asbestos containing materials as well as innovations in diagnosing and treating asbestos-related illnesses. Also consider how the industry could identify and manage other elongated mineral particles being more widely found in the natural environment.

There were also a series of concurrent streams, technical sessions, international speakers, panel discussions and social functions.

The conference included exhibition hall that showcased a host of industry suppliers, proving unique opportunities for networking throughout the conference, including during the welcome drinks commencing on Sunday evening.

Anyone in the asbestos management industry benefited those involved in asbestos management, remediation, risk management and who are from the front line through to developing regulatory policy.

Great few days. We met many interesting people and exchanged ideas and issues that we all experience to our International speakers who were spent time with thank you Jasper Kosters from the Netherland and  Jonathan Grant from the United Kingdom.
