Asbestos and Silica Awareness Day Event Radisson on Flagstaff Melb 2025
#asbestos #silica #event – On Wednesday 12th of November ACV/GARDS held its annual event for Asbestos and Silica Awareness day at the #Radisson on Flagstaff gardens – 70+ people joined us for the event – there were eight speakers coming from all different areas of asbestos and silica informing those present of their part they play in the asbestos and silica area – Professor Anthony Linton from Asbestos & Dust Diseases Research Institute (ADDRI) along with Dr Ben Johnson from ADDRI, Jarni Greatorex a mesothelioma sufferer & advocate, Jodie Deaks CEO of the Asbestos and Silica Safety Eradication Agency (ASSEA), Ben Davis the CEO of the Victorian Asbestos Eradication Agency (VAEA), Joanna Mcneill silicosis sufferer and advocate, Dr Gerry Ayres OHS&S Manager for the CFMEU Construction and General Victoria, Peter Valentine mesothelioma sufferers and advocate – they were all very knowledgeable and much to share with those who attended. The Choir of Hard Knocks were absolutely terrific and sang so beautifully – thanking their Manager Jan Hamilton, Co artistic Director Adam Przewlocki, and key board accompanist Boris Conley – marvelous work and the choir is a credit to you all. Our ecumenical service was conducted by the Rev’d Lydia Thangadurai Succentor from St. Pauls Cathedral Melbourne – all those who participated in the day made it an exceptional event enjoyed by all.
