Mildura Asbestos Awareness Session 2016

Four of the ACV/GARDS committee visited Mildura on the 21st, 22nd & 23rd July to deliver an asbestos awareness session to some Mildura council officers, Pro CFA fire fighters and unionists. It was a full on session 3+ hours and many questions were asked. I want to thank Darren Carman for coming along from Mairin OHS&E consulting to help with the presentation. We believe that those who attended got a lot out of the session and could not believe what asbestos products were out in the community and coming into our country as imports. Thank you to all who attended it was a great day and we enjoyed meeting everyone of those who came and participated. Big thank you to the Sunraysia Trades and Labour Council – Joint Secretaries – Mick Chopping and Arthur Edge for making us feel very welcome. Thanks also to Arthur for showing us his fantastic cactus garden – just magnificent – a real labour of love. ACV/GARDS hopes to get back to Mildura sometime soon for more awareness sessions.
